We seek to go beyond the familiar to better understand what seems foreign and often strange. We've learned that our stories come from who we are and where we are from. Our environment will influence us, but we can choose what defines us. Each year the "Hoods to Woods" summit along the mid-coast of Maine provides an opportunity for UrbanTrekkers and our sister program, Terkkers, to bring high school students from the rural Maine coast and the city environment of Camden, New Jersey together for adventure and relational experiences. This program provides an ongoing exchange, where the Maine Trekkers also make annual visits to our city to experience life in the inner city.
