|
WHY: |
Your involvement in the Pedal for Promise will help support the dynamic education taking place at UrbanPromise Academy (UPA). UPA is a private high school focusing on the needs of young people who are not reaching their academic potential in traditional public education settings. Founded in 1997 by UrbanPromise Ministries, UrbanPromise Academy (UPA) offers Camden teens a unique private Christian schooling opportunity. Students often enter the school 2 to 3 grade levels below national age level standards. The academy has seen tremendous success in preparing teens for post-secondary educational opportunities by engaging teens in a unique education experience that includes: low student/teacher ratios, a family style learning environment, personal accountability, community service, mentoring, weekly Bible classes and an emphasis on experiential learning through the UrbanTrekkers Program. UrbanTrekkers takes teens out of the classroom and into the outdoors, providing them with hands-on, up-close learning and mentoring. |
